A low voltage power source commonly used in school science.


An acronym for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. A device which emits a narrow beam of intensely bright light.

Law of reflection

The Law of Reflection states that θi, the angle of incidence, is equal to θr, the angle of reflection.


Abbreviation of Light Emitting Diode, a semiconductor which emits light.


A piece of transparent substance, usually glass, having two opposite surfaces either both curved or one curved and one plane, used for magnification, or in correcting defects of vision.

Light gate

An electrical kit comprising base boards and components, used to teach about electrical circuits.


A wave that oscillates back and forth on an axis that is the same as the axis along which the wave propagates. Sound waves are longitudinal waves.
