IC Chip

Integrated Circuit Chips are complex electrical circuits etched onto tiny chips. Used in computer circuits.

Igneous

Igneous rocks form when molten rock (magma) cools and solidifies either below the surface as intrusive (plutonic) rocks or on the surface as extrusive (volcanic) rocks.

Incandescence

The emission of visible light by a hot object.

Inorganic

Compounds that do not contain carbon, such as minerals and water.

Interference

In Physics: The process in which two or more light, sound, or electromagnetic waves of the same frequency combine to reinforce or cancel each other. In Radio: a jumbling of radio signals, caused by the reception of undesired signals.

Ions

An atom or a group of atoms that has an electric charge. Positive ions, or cations, are formed by the loss of electrons; negative ions, or anions, are formed by the gain of electrons.
