Frequently Asked Questions
How do I log in?
Click on the 'Click Here to Login' button located at the top-right of each page then enter your username and password in the relevant boxes and click 'Submit'. Ensure your username and password are spelled correctly and contain no spaces. Your Username and Password are printed in the letter we sent you at the beginning of your subscription.
I have forgotten our password, what shall I do?
Select the 'Click here for a reminder' link on the Login page. Fill in your username (printed on your subscription letter) and your password will be sent automatically by email to the main contact at your establishment. If you are still having problems logging in, please email support@preproom.org.
Who in our school is allowed to use the site?
As long as you have a valid subscription, any member of staff at your establishment can log on with the same username and password. Pupils however are not permitted to use the site for security reasons. Please ensure usernames and passwords are kept safe and away from students. Do not disclose your username and password to any other school or institution If we suspect this of happening, your subscription may be terminated without warning.
Can I print off pages to use in school?
Yes, you are welcome to print off any of the pages and diagrams for use in your establishment only. All pages are copyright preproom.org and should not be copied for distribution outside of your place of work.
Can I use the website at home?
Yes, we are open 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year and you can log on from anywhere in the world that has an internet connection.
How can my school join?
Click on the 'Join Us' button at the top right of this page, all you need to know is there.
Who can join?
We aim most of our content towards KS3, KS4/GCSE sciences although much of the site will be useful in supporting A-level and vocational sciences. Any educational establishment in the UK is welcome to join us, the cost of annual subscription is the same for all.
Why do you charge a subscription fee?
Like any other professional publisher, we research and write all of our own content specifically for this website. Our content costs a lot of money to produce. Membership fees go towards hosting the site and research and design of new content and services. The cost of subscription has been kept as low as possible so that the cost is well within the budget of most establishments. This also means the site is not swamped by irrelevant advertisements or popups.
Are you a University company?
No. We are completely independent and not affiliated to any university, organisation or supplier. By being independent, you can be assured that our focus is primarily on supporting our members and subscriptions fees are reinvested into this site only.
How do you differ from the free sites out there?
Free sites rely completely on contributions from members. We provide an entirely different service to anything that has gone before by writing and designing our own content, so that what you need is available in one place rather than scattered around the internet. Our content is always unique and original, relevant to technicians and reliable. We know of three main free sites, none of which offer similar content. You can see the many ways in which we differ by taking our free trial.
I am awaiting an email from you but have not received it.
Check your 'bulk' or 'spam' folder first to see if the email is in there. If after three days you still cannot find it, email us at admin@preproom.org and we will contact you again. Alternatively phone us on 07517 887 330.
How often is the site updated?
We try to add new content at least every day. Whole sections are added regularly and our users are encouraged to let us know what they would like us to add in future updates. We pride ourselves in creating innovative content and services, many of which have never been created solely for technicians before.
