To access our member's area, click on the blue 'Click Here to Login' button at the top of the screen. Enter your username and password (as printed on your subscription letter) and press 'Submit'.

If your login is successful you will see a welcome screen. To ensure that we can provide the best service as possible we ask that you check and update the details of the main contact at your school. This will only be requested once during your subscription.

A new row of buttons will appear near the top of the screen listing the eight member's sections:

Practicals, Equipment, The Workshop, Info Library, Product Comparison, Courses, Community, Forums, Logout

Clicking on each of these will take you to the relevant sections. The 'Logout' button logs you off and ends your session. You may log in at any time, day or night for as long as you like while your subscription is active.

Any of the staff at your establishment may use the site at any time using the same username and password we have given you. You may access the site from more than one PC at a time or use the site from any PC connected to the internet at home or at work.

If you forget your password, click the 'Click here for a reminder' link on the login page where you will be asked to enter your username (your school postcode). Alternatively if you have further problems logging in, email us at subscriptions@preproom.org and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

Navigation

The contents in each of the eight main sections can be navigated by clicking on links on the main pages or by using the grey buttons on the left. Links to content should be pretty self-explanatory. To go back to the previous page either click the back button on your browser or the back button at the bottom of the grey buttons to the left of the main pages.

Saving Practical and Equipment pages

When browsing the Practicals or Equipment sections you may want to save certain pages to view later. This feature allows you to save the selected pages to a folder which can then be selected by clicking the 'SAVED EQUIPMENT' or 'SAVED PRACTICALS' buttons (depending which section you are browsing).

To save a page, click on the 'Add to Saved Equipment (or Practical) Pages' located under the options section to the left of the page...

These pages will be stored even after you log off allowing you to collect useful pages together for you or your colleagues to browse at leisure.

Forums

Our forums allow technicians from across the country to chat, post or answer questions or comment whenever they wish. You may browse these forums by clicking in the green button within the forums section. To post a message, you will first need to register. More information regarding registering for the forums can be found by clicking the 'New to forums? - Click here for a starter's guide' button located at the bottom of the forums section.

Registration is free to member schools and any member of your school staff may register to use our forums. Pupils are not allowed to use our forums for security reasons.

Please remember that the username and password you use to log in to the site will be different to the one you need to create to post on our forums. You may need to make a note of your personal forum login when you register.

The best way to get to know the site is to just have a browse around at your leisure. We have tried to make things as user-friendly as possible in order to make the site useful and intuitive. Most questions can be answered by viewing our FAQ section, alternatively email us any queries.

We are constantly updating and adding pages and new sections. The site will continue to develop and grow over the next few months to become a wealth of knowledge and support. Please feel free to help us achieve this by emailing us any feedback, comments or suggestions at feedback@preproom.org.
